Halkidiki is a large peninsula consisting essentially of 3 smaller peninsulas that give the characteristic shape of the trident. The region has a population of 105,000 inhabitants,  the capital is the city Polygyros.

In Chalkidiki you can visit Mount Athos with its traditional monasteries, in Petralona the cave of the proto-human, the ancient city of Olynthus, Stagira the ancient city of Aristotle, the monastery of Saint Anastasia of the 9th century, in Kalithea the Temple of Zeus - Ammona - Dionysus and Nymphs and many more attractions including castles, monasteries, Roman and Byzantine ruins.

The combination of green mountainous landscape with its crystal clear waters of the Aegean give some of the best beaches in Greece. The peninsula of Kassandra offers the coasts of New Fokea, Afitos, Kalithea and Pefkohori. In the peninsula of Sithonia we recommend you the coasts of Agia Kiriaki Vourvourou, Paradise, Kelifos and Neos Marmaras.

The average temperature in Halkidiki range from 5 degrees Celsius (41F) in January to 26 degrees (79F) during July and August. Tourism lasts primarily from May through October with peak months in July and August.

In Chalkidiki you can arrive by plane at the airport of Thessaloniki, Athens and then by car.
