Kefalonia is the largest and most mountainous of the Ionian Islands with a population of 34,000 inhabitants. Argostoli is the capital of the island. The main island has a mountain range, several plains, caves, capes and bays.

 The island offers beautiful beaches, with 11 of those awarded the blue flag. The island has many visitors each year and increased after the movie 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin', which was shot on the island in 2001. The island is characterized by picturesque villages with many visitors, stunning beaches, taverns and cafes, archeological sites, caves and green.

In Sami you can visit by boat the sea cave Melisani with incredible color and the ancient ruins of the citadel Sami. Also see the 2 large nunnery of St. Andrew and St. Miliapidias Gerasimos. At the villages of Arginia and Markopoulo on the mid-August you have the opportunity to see the phenomenon of the emergence of small snakes in the churches of the villages. Also visit the picturesque Peratata with the Byzantine ecclesiastical museum of woodcarvings, icons, etc, the castle of St. George and the coasts of Kaminia, Skala, Myrtos, Makris Gialos and Petanis.

In Kefalonia you can arrive by plane at the airport or Kefalonia Airport to Athens and then ferry from Patras or even from Italy by ferry port of Brindisi.
